🛠️ Before You Start Ship Trimming Calculation Tool: Set Up Ship Data

Before using any calculation tool, it’s essential to enter and save your ship’s data. This ensures all tools use accurate data specific to your vessel.

✅ Complete Required Ship Data Sections

Go to the Ship Data page. You’ll find three main sections:

1. General Info

2. Dimensions and Weights

3. Hydrostatic Tables (optional but recommended)

📌 Mandatory Sections

You must complete the following before using any tool:

2. Dimensions and Weights

Once saved, this data is automatically used across all tools. You only need to enter it once — typically when joining a new vessel.

⚠️ Important: Enter all values carefully and double-check against official ship documents. Read any guidance or warnings displayed during the saving process.

🧱 Optional: Hydrostatic Tables

Adding hydrostatic table values is strongly recommended for faster calculations:

• Tools will auto-fill matching values from your saved data.

• If you haven’t saved your hydrostatic data yet, you can manually enter hydrostatic values during calculations — above and below the required value.

  💡 Tip: Always double-check input values above and below the target for accuracy.

  
  

1️⃣ Step 1: Enter Draft Readings

Enter the ship’s 4 draft readings:

• FWD Port Draft (m)

• FWD Starboard Draft (m)

• AFT Port Draft (m)

• AFT Starboard Draft (m)

The tool will automatically calculate the mean midship draft.

2️⃣ Step 2: Input 100 MT Trim Table Values

Based on the calculated mean draft, fill in the draft changes per 100 MT for each cargo hold.

• Select the cargo holds/tanks "....." to be used for trimming

• For each selected ".....", input:

  • Change in FWD mean draft (m) if +/- 100 MT

  • Change in AFT mean draft (m) if +/- 100 MT

    💡 Use values from your ship's trim tables. If values are in cm, use the Ship’s Converter to convert to meters.

    
    

3️⃣ Step 3: Enter Cargo Weights

Input the amount of cargo to load or discharge in each selected hold:

• Use ( + ) to indicate loading

• Use ( - ) to indicate discharging

The tool will apply trim table changes based on these weights.

4️⃣ Step 4: View Final Drafts and Trim Result

The tool will calculate the final FWD and AFT drafts based on your inputs.

⚠️ Keep in mind: Results may differ in real operations due to:

• Hull deflection

• Actual water density

• Ship deformation or cargo distribution variance

Always verify with onboard checks when possible.

5️⃣ Step 5: Save the Calculation

• Click the Calculation Icon

• Your input will be automatically saved

• All data is private and accessible only to your account

• A feedback message will confirm the calculation was processed

  
  

6️⃣ Step 6: Enter and Save Additional Data

Enter the final details:

• Name of Port

  Date

• Remarks (optional)

Click the Save button.

📂 A feedback message will confirm your entry is saved.

📌 Note: At this step, all data has been calculated and saved for Ship Trimming Calculation.

🖨️ Print the Calculation

At the bottom of the page, click the PRINT button:

• Opens a new window with the formatted printout

• Suitable for official documentation

In the new window:

• Click the printer icon (top-right) to print or save as PDF

• Or press Ctrl + P on your keyboard
