📦 Master Work Station – Ship Inventory
Keeping track of shipboard stores and spares is always a challenge. Excel files get lost, paper records are hard to maintain, and every new crew change creates confusion.
That’s why Master Work Station (MWS) includes a simple but powerful Inventory Manager — an online tool for creating, updating, and printing your ship’s inventories.
⚙️ What is the Ship Inventory?
The Inventory Manager allows every user to:
Create multiple inventories (e.g., Deck Stores, Engine Spares, Provisions).
Define a unit once (kg, pcs, litres, etc.) and keep it fixed for all items inside that inventory.
Add, edit, or delete items in a dynamic repeater table.
Save and update inventories anytime, with data linked only to the logged-in user.
Print professional inventory reports with totals and remarks.
🔑 How to Use the Ship Inventory
1. Create a New Inventory
Enter the Inventory Name (example: Deck Stores).
Choose the Unit from the dropdown (kg, pcs, litres, etc.).
Click Add Inventory.
The inventory is saved to your account and appears in the Saved Inventory dropdown.
Each user can have multiple inventories, but duplicate names are not allowed.
2. Open a Saved Inventory
Use the Saved Inventory dropdown to load any of your previously created inventories.
The table (repeater) and controls will expand, showing all saved items.
3. Add and Manage Items
Inside the repeater you’ll find fields:
Item – the name of the item
Description – details of the item
Quantity – numeric value (if empty, treated as 0)
Unit – read-only, automatically set to the inventory’s unit
Controls:
➕ Add Line – insert a new empty row.
💾 Save – update all rows to the database.
🗑️ Delete Row – remove a single line using the bin button.
🧹 Delete All – clear the entire inventory (with confirmation).
4. Header Fields
Each inventory also has two header fields:
Date – for stock-taking or reporting date.
Remark – for additional notes about the inventory.
Click Save Header to keep this information linked to the selected inventory.
5. Print Out Your Inventory
Go to the Ship Inventory Report page.
Select the inventory from the dropdown.
The full report loads: header fields, all items, and an automatic Total Quantity (empty fields count as 0).
Click Print to generate a professional onboard record.
🎯 Why Use the Inventory Manager?
