🛠️ Before You Start Ship's Trimming Calculation: Set Up Ship Data

Before using any calculation tool, it’s essential to enter and save your ship’s data. This ensures all tools use accurate data specific to your vessel.

✅ Complete Required Ship Data Sections

Go to the Ship Data page. You’ll find three main sections:

• General Info

• Dimensions and Weights

• Hydrostatic Tables (optional but recommended)

You must complete the following before using any tool:

• General Info

• Dimensions and Weights

Once saved, this data is automatically used across all tools. You only need to enter it once — typically when joining a new vessel.

⚠️ Important: Enter all values carefully and double-check against official ship documents. Read any guidance or warnings displayed during the saving process.

🧱 Optional: Hydrostatic Tables

Adding hydrostatic table values is strongly recommended for faster calculations:

• Tools will auto-fill matching values from your saved data.

• In case you haven’t saved your hydrostatic data yet, you can manually enter hydrostatic values during calculations — above and below the required value.

  💡 Tip: Always double-check input values above and below the target for accuracy.

Ship's Trimming Calculation (for larger amounts):

1️⃣ Enter All Six Draft Readings

Input the following six draft readings (in meters):

• FWD Port Reading Draft

• FWD Starboard Reading Draft

• MID Port Reading Draft

• MID Starboard Reading Draft

• AFT Port Reading Draft

• AFT Starboard Reading Draft

  ⚠️ For AFT Draft, click the By Hull / By Rudder button to indicate from which mark the aft draft is taken. This selection will automatically update the values for Distance from A.P. (Aft Perpendicular) and LBM (Length Between Marks).

2️⃣ Input Weights to Be Loaded or Discharged

You will see two input fields for each compartment:

1. Weight (+ / -) in ........

2. Weight (+ / -) in ........

The “........” represents any compartment — such as a cargo hold, ballast tank, or fuel tank.

Within each of these fields, you must also specify the hold or tank number.

Use ( + ) if you want to Load weight.

Use ( – ) if you want to Discharge weight.

Input +/-weights for each compartment involved in the operation.

3️⃣ Enter LCG (Longitudinal Center of Gravity) from M.P.

For each compartment used, enter the following:

1. LCG from M.P. to ........

2. LCG from M.P. to ........

The “........” represents the compartment you entered weight for (e.g., cargo hold or tank).

You must input the LCG from the Midship Point (M.P.) for each compartment.

Use ( + ) if the LCG is forward of M.P.

Use ( – ) if the LCG is aft of M.P.

4️⃣ Enter Hydrostatic Data (Density 1.025 / Trim 0)

You must use hydrostatic data corresponding to density 1.025 and trim 0.

For accurate results, always enter values above and below the required point.

You’ll need to input the following:

🔹 Based on Corrected Mean Draft (m):

→ To find ±LCF from M.P. (m)

🔹 Based on True Mean Draft (m):

→ To find Displacement (mt)

🔹 Based on Final Displacement (mt):

→ To find Draft (m), ±LCF from M.P. (m), and MCT (tm/cm)

💡 Note: If you only have LCF from A.P. but need LCF from M.P., you can use the Ship’s Calculator to find the value.

⚠️ Enter all data carefully and accurately — incorrect values will affect the final trimming result.

⚙️ Using Saved Hydrostatic Data

If you have previously saved your hydrostatic table in the Hydrostatic Tables section:

1. Click the “Insert Data” buttons labeled 1, 2, and 3.

2. Buttons must be clicked in order (1→2→3).

3. The tool will automatically insert the required values from your saved hydrostatic data.

   
   
   
   

5️⃣ Click the Calculation Icon

Once all required data is entered, click the Calculation icon.

• Your input will be automatically saved

• All saved data is private and accessible only to your account

After clicking the icon, you will see a feedback message confirming that the calculation has been processed.

🔐 Your data is secure and not visible to other users.

6️⃣ View Calculation Results

After the calculation is complete, check your results:

• Calculated Drafts at Perpendiculars

• Calculated Drafts at Marks

  📌 These results reflect the impact of your entered data.

6️⃣ Enter and Save Additional Data

To complete the calculation, enter the following final details:

• Date

• Name of Port

• Remarks (optional)

Then click the Save button.

💾 Once saved, a feedback message will confirm that your entry was successfully recorded.

Note: At this step, all data of calculation has been calculated and saved.

🖨️ Print the Calculation

At the bottom of the page, you will find a PRINT button.

Clicking it will open a new window with the printout form of your saved calculation — suitable for official use.

In the new window:

• A printer icon is located at the top right corner. Clicking it will open the print dialog to print or save as PDF.

• You can also press Ctrl + P on your keyboard to open the print menu directly.
