How to Use the Garbage Disposal Tool
Getting Started
Before using the tool, ensure that all necessary data is filled and saved in the General Info Section of the Ship’s Data page 💾. This step ensures that the generated reports are connected to the correct ship information.
Step 1: Enter Garbage Disposal Details 📝
Fill in the key details regarding the garbage disposal:
Position / Port of Disposal: Record the port or position where the garbage disposal took place 🌍.
Date of Disposal: Enter the disposal date 📅.
Time of Disposal: Record the time of disposal 🕒.
Representative / Received By: Specify the person or entity who received the garbage.
Step 2: Enter Disposal Information
Input the volumes or amounts for the following garbage categories. Each field is marked with a red border for easy identification 🔴:
A - Plastics (m³)
B - Food Wastes (m³)
C - Domestic Wastes (m³)
D - Cooking Oil
E - Incinerator Ashes (m³)
F - Operational Wastes (m³)
G - Animal Carcasses (m³)
H - Fishing Gear
I - E-Wastes (m³)
J - Cargo Residues, non-HME (m³)
K - Cargo Residues, HME (m³)
The Total Garbage Disposed will be automatically calculated ⚖️.
Step 3: Add General Remarks (Optional)
At the bottom of the page, use the Remarks field to include additional notes or observations regarding the disposal 📝.
Step 4: Save Your Data 💾
Click the Save button to ensure all entered information is securely stored. A feedback message will confirm that your data has been successfully saved ✅.
Step 5: Print or Save the Garbage Disposal Report 🖨️
Once all fields are filled and saved:
Click the Print button to load the Garbage Disposal Report Printout Form 📄.
Use the Printer Icon in the top-right corner to print the report directly or save it as a PDF.
Garbage Disposal Reporting Requirements
The Garbage Disposal Report is a key part of the ship’s Garbage Management Plan (GMP). All reports and certificates related to garbage disposal must be kept on board for compliance purposes. Additionally, the same information should be recorded in the Garbage Record Book for future reference and inspections 📖.
